Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the readers towards the exquisite beauty of our most loved city and the current capital of India – Delhi . One of the oldest and culturally richest cities we have. I proudly say , Delhi is the city of my dreams . I feel really ecstatic that I reside here . And , I truly believe my city will touch the heights of modernisation and infrastructural development in the near future.
Delhi has a timeline of various ancient historical events . The city was named as “Indraprasth” by The Pandavas. It was an important political centre of Medieval Indian , chosen as the capital of many empires . Emperor Shahjahan was a die hard adorer of Delhi. He has mentioned on Diwan -e – khash, ” if there be paradise upon earth . It is here. It is here.” Delhi constitutes a range of historical/ heritage sites including Red Fort , Humayun’s tomb and Qutub Minar etc. It is a rapidly modernising city . It has evolved from having narrow lanes ; old , unplanned roads and buildings ; scattered markets to possessing the best features of a highly modernised , well planned city such as Metro system , huge malls , fabulous eateries and smooth roads.
Add to this , The esteemed Parliament, Rastrapati bhawan , widespread greenery , rich architecture and famed cuisine makes Delhi a multifaceted city.
Delhi has the embassies of many countries. People from different cast , creed , race and religion live here happily.
Living in Delhi provides the experience of living in paradise to all the Delhihites.
Concerned authorities are requested to look after pollution control to make Delhi an even better place to live. On the whole , it is indeed a matter of immense pleasure to live in the capital of world’s largest democratic country.
